With a simple mouse click (or by using the correct hotkey) you can capture the whole screen, a specific window, a rectangle, a rounded rectangle, a diamond region, and more. What happens once you have the screenshot depends on how you set things up. You can set it so the image will be copied to the clipboard, you can save it to your hard disk, or you can upload it. Here’s where things get interesting – Neox Screen provides support for clipboard upload, file upload, image upload, and text upload. And best of all, it provides support for numerous uploaders: ImageShack, PhotoBucket, Dropbox, FTP, and more.

A standard installation process goes something like this: download an executable, run it, click through the onscreen instructions presented by a setup wizard. Installing Neox Screen is such a standard process. It will take you little time and a minimal amount of effort to get Neox Screen up and running.

The main panel of the application’s interface presents a list of the screenshots you took. At the top there’s a bar with buttons for launching the capture process, choosing the upload destinations, accessing the Settings menu, and more. The simple truth of the matter is that the interface is so simple that you will immediately feel at home using it.

Screen capture is the first bit of functionality offered by Neox Screen. From the Capture dropdown menu or by using the assigned hotkey you can capture the following: full screen, active window, active monitor, window & rectangle, rectangle region, rounded rectangle region, ellipse region, triangle region, diamond region, polygon region, freehand region. You can change the default hotkeys for the screen capture functionality from the Settings menu, the Hotkeys submenu.

And speaking about the Settings menu, from a different submenu, the Capture one, you can select what happens to the screenshot after you take it. You can choose to copy the screenshot to the clipboard so you can then paste it in any application you want. You can choose to save it locally, to a folder on your hard drive. Or, and this option is enabled by default, you can upload the image to the web.

Neox Screen has a lot of upload functionality to offer. It can upload the contents of your clipboard, it can upload a file that you select, and it can upload the screenshot you took. Where the data is uploaded depends on how you set things up. The nice thing here is that support for numerous services is provided: ImageShack, TinyPic, Flickr, Photobucket, Dropbox, RapidShare, Pastebin, FTP, and more.

Neox Screen is a free application. Cons:
None that I could think of.

Pros

Getting Neox Screen up and running on a Windows-powered machine will take little time. The simple interface is very easy to use. You can capture the whole screen, a specific window, and various types of regions. You can save the screenshot, copy it to the clipboard, or upload it. Numerous uploaders are supported by Neox Screen. Neox Screen is free (consider making a donation).

Cons

ider making a donation if you enjoy using the application. Neox Screen has a lot to offer for the great price of free. Use it to easily take a screenshot and then save or upload it to the web.
